Welcome to Day 6 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on Sunday's NYNGD #2016-5!

So... How we doing so far? We have another couple days or so of cool but "average" NYNGD's and then things start getting real! Yes, this year's NYNGD is a marathon, not a sprint! You guys still with me for the ride?

Today's NYNGD is part of a progression. An evolution. An awakening. After getting introduced to MM90/P90 pickups, the next logical step was an MM90 equipped guitar with piezo saddles! This is my first Axis Super Sport, and it's just an outstanding guitar with the classy cream binding of the Axis but a vintage trem. With the MM90s, the piezo, and the vintage trem setup slightly raised off the body so it floats, this is a go-to guitar for clean parts and shimmering chords.

I'll be back in the next day or so with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day!

Thanks for looking everyone!

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Best average looking guitar around.

Jeff, wouldn't mind knowing which guitar these last 2 years is one you gravitate towards playing the most and why? Also how often would a favorite among many actually be played? Daily? Few times a week? Weekly?
(if its yet to be revealed, maybe tease us all a bit before hand?)

Outstanding!
I got my first A.S.S. (w/ MM90s ! ) purely be accident a couple of months ago. It won't replace my AL's, but it's a close runner-up. Something magical about that guitar...

Hmmm. I generally shuffle the guitars every few weeks, so there usually aren't my "number one" or "main guitar". I generally always keep my old black Silhouette (with Floyd) out, as it's my trusty road dog that's always good to go. And I always have an Axis on hand. I would say in the past few years the LIII has really been speaking to me. So it's more around "which model" am I digging, and less about which guitar. Sure, there are some that are "warmer"/"creamier"/"hotter"/"smoother"/"brighter" than others. So if I have a specific thing to do I'll go get out the "fat sounding" purple EBMM EVH, or the Bali Burst LIII because I want to play some chords with a clean sound a trem, or the trans orange Axis because it's tuned down to C#. But if I'm just jamming around having a Silo with Floyd, an Axis, and a LIII and I am covered. But the one that is my current "favorite" is probably my Majesty Artisan Marrone -- it just feels so amazing. But the tuning/nut is a bit less bulletproof than my Silo or an Axis -- I think I need some nut sauce or some such.
