Welcome to Day 10 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2022-9!

Alright, we're on a roll! (But don't get too excited because I am back to work tomorrow, which means our pace might be slowed again...)

Day #10. Halfway through 2022's 19 masterpieces. I've already shown you some pretty cool items and that was in the first half! You can bet the second half will not disappoint!

Today's guitar is a Luke III BFR in a one-off mahogany. This is another artist guitar I'm pretty sure from the same artist who ditched the blue sparkle burst Luke from NYNGD #2022-8. Not sure why this guy ditched such amazing guitars!

Look at this thing! Unfortunately, I had trouble getting the grain to show through in the photos, but you can see the mahogany grain in person. I think it has a stain on it, maybe the color EBMM calls "Walnut"? I need to check with Tomas, as the Serial Number DB tool doesn't say the color.

Plays and sounds like a Luke 3 HSS should, but this one has a bit more of a warmer sound due to the mahogany body. Just awesome!

I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!

Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Nice score yet again Jeff, that's pretty cool!!!!! Agreed about the artist that dumped the Luke's. Kev, your right that neck sucks!!!!!!

This year so far it's Luke's for the win!!!!

I love to see the wood under the finish.

The artist who owned the 2 Lukes you own now is definitely an a**hole 😵. How can you sell such nice guitars especially made for you by MusicMan ?

(OK, had to jump in as my original acct lilsteve is not working)

Just wow, do I need to hire you to find these? Must be an artist with enough pull to have one offs built. Congrats on the find.

Is that a fender custom shop logo on the back of the headstock (small picture of entire neck)? :)

Good eye! I was wondering if someone would spot that. No, it was from something called "Lance Parra Custom Shop" who apparently isn't very custom since he pretty much stole Fender Custom Shop's logo. I sanded it off the headstock before I did the closeup shot, but not before I did the full back shot. Rbg you win the prize for spotting it!

BTW, I don't know why that was on there. OH... it looks like he is a guitarist with a bunch of endorsements. Now he endorses Zion guitars. Um... I bet he is the guy who EBMM originally made this for?!?

Jeff, if you do a google search, you can find this image :

I believe it is your guitar. The guy has drawn a logo on the body.

Sure looks like it! I think you're right! That angel logo was gone when I received it.
Looking at his website, that's apparently "his" logo, and he puts it on all of his guitars. Website is WAAYYY out of date so who knows if he is even playing anymore.
