Welcome to Day 11 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!
Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2022-10!
Alright! Day 11 of 19! Slowly but surely making progress on NYNGD 2022!
Today's NYNGD is a bit of a twist for me! My first EBMM Sabre! AND WHAT A SABRE THIS IS! Specifically, this is the Sabre HT Duello from the Fall 2022 BFR run. This beauty has a black limba body with a highly figured gloss natural spalted maple top with natural wood binding, a roasted flame maple neck with a flame maple fretboard, pearlescent block inlays, black and gold hardware, and custom HT pickups.
I have to admit -- I was a little worried when I ordered this that it would be too over the top. Too much going on. Too many different wood species, figuring, bursts, natural binding, inlays, etc. But, when it arrived... holy crap this thing is just amazing. The workmanship is next level. EBMM really knocked it out of the park with this package!
So... my first Sabre! It was cool to buy a new model without ever picking one up. It's heavier than I'm used to, but not enough to put me off on it. And it's bigger with the enlarged headstock and bigger body (relative to a Silo or Luke or Majesty). But it works. And the special HT bridge pickup screams! Really interesting tones on this guitar. Clean sounds are great, high gain on the bridge pickup is aces!
So... what do you think? A keeper? If this guy is only Day 11 and there are 8 more guitars coming, can you imagine what I have up my sleeve?
I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!
Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.
(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars.
The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)
(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)
