I currently just play along to CD's or DVD's in my basement. Sometimes at parties/when we have friends&neighbours etc. here I crank-up some tunes and play the bass while my drunken wife and guests dance. It's a lot of fun!

I would really appreciate some input from those who gig at bars etc. what gets the gals goin'? I'm not an advanced player - and play mostly classic rock and some Country. Thanks (hic). :)

as much as I hate the song, -Mustang Sally-by- The Commitments has to be one of the top 10 "drunk" songs.
When I was in a top 40 band it was a "must" on every bar's list.

I second "Tequila makes her clothes fall off", hahaha

"Holiday" by Madonna - kind of a funky bassline too...

Hey, he asked a question "what makes gals dance?" If you want to listen to a bunch of GUYS talking about what makes girls dance, you don't need to listen to me at all.

Pashaa! Shame the tribe...

Being electrocuted will make you leap around, too, but that's no reason to recommend it.

Beth, you have used the name "Madonna" in this most holy of places.

For this, you must say "Hail, BP, full of Pelligrino" three times and then send me some home-made brownies.

Until you have complied, the balance shall not be restored.

;)

As for the dancing: depending on what your desired outcome might be, you might want to try some Joe Cocker - especially, "You Can Leave Your Hat On".

I've been playing for a lot of 40-50 year olds lately and everytime we play a CCR song they go completely nuts! Women dancing on tables and stuff! It's crazy!
I don't get it, I find CCR pretty boring. Maybe it's the basslines.....
