This thread appears right after measuring
the back of my Explorer for a fridge ;)
And thanks for your input Ric but I'm going
with the CL . . . no comparison IMO
A/B'd just about everything in '05 and
I'm hooked on the CL/8x10. Now all I need
is bigger balls to bring this thing home.

Do it Chuck - if you don't, PM me w/that 1300
connection ;)

Every time I see a bass player on Leno they almost always have the classic 300 watt, all tube SVT with usually an eight ten cab. I have a SR5 and 4, Sterling and a Bongo on the way, shouldn't I also have the big Ampeg stack?

OK, so I don't have a bass gig at the moment, but wouldn't a big Ampeg SVT rig make me cool? Sure my Ashdown ABM 500 stack is more powerful, but Ampeg SVT is cooler.... right? Or am I just another fool with more money than brains?

I've got a deal in the works for the head, around 1300.00 new, what you do???

No not at all, Your 20 again thinking you have more mussels the the Hulk, At 47 now I just now look at my 1969 SVT in my wharehouse and Point and go, Now that's a Kick ass Amp, Don't it still Look great.

So I'm going to ge totally thrashed here, but I still want to say this: The Ampeg SVT is about as great as a Fe**er P bass. To some people it's the best ever...

IMHO, The Ashdown ABM 500 is a far better sounding amp!
And you are cool enough, you don't need Nikki Sixx cool;)

Because it's closer to 11.... :D

My amp is superior, it truly goes to eleven! When I bought my amp, I was in doubt between ampeg and EBS, both quality amps, but I choose for the EBS Fafner, in my opinion a much more versatile amp, and I got much better service (ampeg is american, EBS from sweden, and I live in Belgium). I always encourage people to try the EBS Fafner, which is a truly great amp. But the SVT is nice too, but if I was going to buy an all tube head, I'd go for a Mesa 400+
