Damn BP...that was a sweet ride. As a muscle car enthusiast....I can sympathize.

Hopefully dealing with the insurance company won't be a pain in the ass.

thanks everyone...Glock that is at the enterance to thermal airport...ALL of the fireman went ot run an errand and if they were there it would have been a very minor engine fire being as the fire station was les than one black away....it took at least 20 minutes for them to respond. That is what keeps simmering in me right now. My tax dollars were not at work

I think I am fairly lucky here boys...when it went it was really quick

HOw about the airport crew that drove a golf cart out to tell me there were no fireman..I asked "did you bring a fire extinguisher?" " Wow...we should have,,,,,be right back" If they had one it would have been ok too basicalleverything that could go wrong did except for me getting out

As a taxpayer...they should at LEAST offer you an apology. It's scary how the emergency response system just broke down like that...

The guy in the golf cart....well I'm speechless.

Courtesy of four separate rural volunteer fire departments. It was a very small fire to begin with. First guy showed up 15 minutes later. In a pickup. The first fire truck came about five minutes after that. There's no point here.

I miss my getaway house in the country, though!

BP, glad to hear you're okay and got out of the car safely. Golf clubs and cars can be replaced, but a human life can't as each person is unique. I'm sure you'll find another classic, just glad to hear you're okay, thats got to be a scary situation.

Not only was that a sweet car, but a piece of history :(

Had a pretty nasty disaster with my 74 Z28 too, but not nearly that bad. Someone is restoring it now

The important thing is no one got hurt or worse, cars can be replaced.

Ouch...BP sorry about your loss...at least you got out alright. Don't forget to tell the insurance company about the $10k in the glove box...oh and all those BFR's in the trunk...what a shame! All kidding aside, though it was a beautiful car, we're all glad you made it out safely...see you next week. -Capt. Don
