Hey BP, though I'm a MM noobie(which I happen to LOVE my Sterling bass BTW) I am a life long muscle and classic car fan(my dad has been a professional auto body and frame specialist and restorer with over 40 years of experience and dozens of restos under his belt) I can truly sympathize with you over the loss of that car, she was a beauty(just watched the clip) Hope you can get the insurance company to come across with the green stuff($) and are able to locate another jewel like her to ease the pain..(P.S. was it a Big Block 396 or a Small Block?)

BP, bit of a hijack here. No actual photos exist - this was before cameras - but my first real car was the model above, only in red.

My friend Bobby had an older brother, Gene (last name - Poole - except no one thought a guy named Gene Poole was funny then), and Gene loved two things, apparently.

1. Fast cars
2. Drug store burglarly to fund his hobbies

When I was barely sixteen, Gene was sentenced to a fairly robust prison stay and, while awaiting transport in the county jail, offered to sell his car to whoever could come up with the money first.

It had a fully-blown short block 327, some sort of ridiculous dragster rear end, there was only one seat (I tossed a bean bag chair in for pals - who worried about seat belts then?), semi-legal headers, God knows what else was attached to that car.

I gave him 250 dollars for it in the summer of 1973.

Yeesh. I sold the ENGINE for three times that less than six months later and thought I had really scored.

humans first, then put your lawyer on the fire department and the insurance company. heh.. the signal you sent to the agent couldnt be misinterpreted and if he is still interested in continuing your business im sure he will come up with something better! if i was doin million dollar business with ya i wouldnt even think about a minor 50k expense.. do i smell an agent switch even if he comes back with the correct answer??

Wow.

Well, now that we know the man upstairs has seen you golf and drive, let's hope he hasn't seen you play bass! (crossing fingers he finds this hilarious)

Very glad you made it out okay.

Quite a wild week first with Luke's child and now this.

BP,
I'm a real car enthusiast, and I agree with Bassmonkey. I hope you and anyone else who was with you is not injured. I hope you can replace the car because we can't replace you.

O.k., maybe I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay late but BP, what became of this?

Did you get things worked out with the insurance company?

Did Scotty make you a new putter (with a Bongo shaped headcover)?

scotty is making me a putter He was going to use my putter in an ad but then the fires hit the west coast ans it became a tad politically incorrect

the car is in the back of the warehouse in its charcoal state waiting for me to figure out what to do with it

the insurance company paid me off gave me the car and did not report it as totalled.
