Hey Guys,

Well I found out that my job at the local music store (which was just bought out by GC) gives me discounts: I get things at cost. This could make my dream of buying some balls come true. So my question is, how do I find out what cost is? Is there a mathematical formula for it, or what?

like I said, I do not work there. I work at a local music store that is owned by them, or a division of Guitar Center Inc. unfortunately, we aren't really a guitar store. We are more of a band/orchestra/classical and jazz music oriented store. We have nothing better than Epiphones...:(

I also think this is not information you could get from here, you have to go through the head of the store or something... they have that information. Especially since we don't discuss prices here...

Sorry! I didn't realize we can't post prices, I apologize for that.

However, without mentioning prices, is there any sort of mathematical equation, or does it change from item to item?

Pittman,

You brightened up my day with your question!!:):) Here's the 3 step "mathematical equation" you requested:

1. Go to owner of store. 2. Ask, "what did you pay for this guitar that I like?" 3. Ask, "how much do I have to pay you for this guitar?"

I don't think EBMM is going to publish what they sell their guitars to their dealers for. Have funnnnn negotiating with your GC for an employee discount! And, remember, if it's a MM guitar then it's Worth it at the price you paid!!:):)

Not a stupid thread at all. It nevers hurts to ask. Most questions are totally welcome, and the worst we'll say when they're not is, "Sorry, can't answer that."

You work for Music & Arts??? I thought I'd heard that GC had bought them out recently. Not a bad store. Definitely geared more towards the band, orchestra, and beginning musician. But a fun shop none the less.

Pitt,

In no way was it stupid at all!!! It was soooooooooooo funny to me because that's a question I would ask!! Please keep MY questions comin', but just remember, whenever I ask a "funny" question, it is one that YOU probably would have asked!!

By the way Bp, what are the "speedos" for??:)

By the way Bp, what are the "speedos" for??:)

They are the ceremony ball covers - and as with all speedos, they are a token attempt to conceal their contents

Then as part of the ceremony, a dozen fair maidens get to ask BP what model the speedos are concealing.

Common guesses and answers are :

"It's a JP" ! .......... "No, it's not hairy enough ......."

"It's a Luke !" .......... "Nope, Lukes need a battery to work !"

"It's a (prince) Albert !" ......... "Huh, I can't see any piercings !?"

"It's VERY big, is there a Dizzy model ???" ....... "Ummm, no..... not quite....... think *cough* a little smaller "

"Ahh... I KNOW !...IT's a STERLING !!!!" ....... "Yep, that's right baby... you win, so come get your hands on the bass throbbing beast !"

 :D :D :D :D

I really thought I was beginning to understand the "speedo" thing until BP, once again, threw in yet "another" piece of the mathematical equation (grapes!!), and, now, I'm back to square 1!:)
