** Off Topic ** Randall George Lynch "Lynch Box" amp

I am still on my amp quest guys....totally on the fence about the Fractal.
Tube amps just seem the way to go The Mojave "Dirty Boy" amp is out of my price range (as discussed in earlier post).

That being said, has anyone tried the Randall George Lynch "Lynch Box" ?

If so, did you use an Axis or EVH model?

Let me know what you thought about it !?!? The local Sam Ash had to order one in, so it may be another 2 weeks before I can try it out.

I use two Randall MTS amps, which are the same as the Lynch Box. i run both the rM50 and the RM100. i also spent sometime playing through a friend's Lynch Box using his guitars, which are two ASS.
My verdict? They're great amps, the flexibility of modules are great. You also have the access to having different tube combinations and the amps have easy self bias feature that allows you to bias your own amp. Great convenience, all you need is a good volt meter.
Having said that, I would stay away from this line right now if i was starting over. the company is in turmoil right now with new ownership, very unorganized. I had a bunch of issues with reliability, and the company never lived up to their warranty. I had to pay for all the repair bills myself. The parts are made and assembled in China, so you draw your own conclusion.
I invested thousands of dollar into these amps, so I'm sticking with it. When they do work, they are phenomenal amps. The design was done by Bruce Egnater himself, who is the guru in true tube modular amps.
If I was going start over right now, I would go with Axe Fx, no doubt. More reliable, no tube and fuse issues, consistency is the key.

Really ?!? Wow. Good to know.

The Lynch tone from end of 80's and early 90's was killer. I was hoping this amp would bring that back somehow. I guess I will find out in a couple weeks.

I have lost a lot of money over the years on transister amps and modeling amps, so I just don't want to get burned again. The Fractal setup might be the way to go. I had a Fractal Thread a few months ago and everyone was really positive about it.

Anyone else have Randall Module Amp??

Have you looked at Egnater amps? I have the Tourmaster very versatile

I´ve got RM50 with blackface and XTC modules...great sound and built like a tank ...no bad stories here.

Why not go with the Egnater modular amps? One of these days, I'm going to get one.

As i've mentioned in earlier reply, I wouldn't go for Randall now. You money will be better spent on the Axe, you can get all the tones that the Randall can do, witthout worrying about the Randall bull**** unreliabity.

There is another thread on the JP Forum about this same matter (went 8 pages!!)... After reading that + going to Fractal Audio website + advice here + best friends advice, looking like Fractal Axe FX will do me just fine.
