Slosh pit, more like...great looking gig.

Slosh"ed" pit would probably be accurate... :D This was our 2nd year playing that gig. It's so fun i almost feel guilty taking any $ for playing it.

We play a lot of festivals but this is by far our favorite every year. The Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland OR draws over 100K people and raised more than $1.3M for our local food bank. Headliners this year included Mavis, Taj, and an unbelievable performance from Robert Plant.

Our guitar player (pictured here) played an after hours jam with Robert. For some reason I didn't get the call.

It's a washboard and shows the great strides made recently in who gets to do the laundry...

And we know what happens when we take over the laundry.....:D

In our world we call it a rub board. We use forks (dinner forks) and rub them up and down. Sounds kind of like a shaker but a bit more percussive. Many bands use actual old washboards and attach cymbals, wood blocks, bells, horns, and all kinds of things that make noise.

Regardless of what you use, it's all just plain fun. Can't you tell.
