OC, sorry Anthony and I didn't bump into you, man!

The show was great. While I never thought much of the pics I'd seen of the 20th Anniv. Silo or the one-off Pet, that guitar looks SO much more beautiful in person than in the pics. I'd put in an order for that somewhere down the line.

At the intermission, while re-hydrating on $7 Bud Lights, I bumped into 4 of the guest from the Manchester clinic. Sorry, I can't remember their names. And while we were talking, we saw the two "young" ladies who flew in from Scandinavia-Holland-Ice Land or wherever they're from, that were also at the Manchester clinic.

Anyone notice Rina walking up and down the ailse between section 400 and 300? She past me 3 times and just after 10pm, she had, I believe, Renny and the little one who'd fallen asleep.

Can't wait for the DVD.

I so want another Pet and a Road King now.

Setlist:
*SETLIST*
------------------------
The Root Of All Evil
I Walk Beside You
Another Won
Afterlife
Under A Glass Moon
Innocence Faded
Raise The Knife
The Spirit Carries On
------------------------
~INTERMISSION~
------------------------
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Vacant
The Answer Lies Within
Sacrificed Sons
Octavarium

Encore:
Metropolis, Pt. 1

All the songs after intermission were done with the orchestra. The band themselves didn't really change their arrangements. Vacant was all orchestra. The orchestra were generally playing the orchestra parts on the album versions of the songs. Metropolis with an orchestra was just sick. Really fantastic.

I gotta say that this show was a dream come true for me. It was everything I'd always hoped a "Very Special Evening With Dream Theater" could be. The one thing that sucked was that JP seemed to have gotten his guitar cord unplugged from his A-B switcher (or something) during UAGM, like someone accidentally kicked it loose. The tech ran out there and fixed it, and all was good.

Wow...as much as I liked the Manchester show, I think I would have preferred this setlist. Sounds like a great show. Glad you all enjoyed it!!!

Now I'm just waiting to see where this new JP guitar thing goes! ;-)

I would just like to reiterate what Cudster is saying and say I think the JP prototype is amazing also. The only thing I would change is the pickup covers Im not too fond of them just put the regular ole pickups in it and I am sold.

Good ol' MA
I have to confess, last night I was (nerdily/excitedly) constantly refreshing the Mike Portnoy forum where they had live updates about what was going on. I saw them in Boston a few nights ago and can't wait to see how this DVD comes out!
By the way, +1 about all the good things said about the prototype, got to see it in Boston and could tell the difference! I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Thanks for all of the concert input guys!
