When I got married (2nd time) I told my wife "I buy gear, I sell gear, that's what I do and life's too short not to".
She was cool with that. Now when I'm looking at a new Item I include her and enjoy her opinions. She even took a road trip to Bass NW in Seattle a few years ago to help me pick out a fretless.
Keep her in the loop, keep the GAS to a reasonable level. Never have to sneak the gear in again.
Of course I can't bitch at her either when she wants to spend money.
