I think i like position 4.. and of course 1.

Give 4 a bit of treble and you get a nice clanky "Freewill" kinda sound.:)

Making me itch for mine even more buddy!

Glad you're liking it. I was a big fan of 3, 4, and 1 when I was playing one at GC. Just can't wait to get my hands on mine.

Mm yay so slapping is getting more comfy and im getting used to it. Going back to my sterling is starting to feel funny ;)

The pickup was uncomfy at first when slapping but now i dont even notice it. It truely is just a matter of getting used to it being there.

Im using position 4 with the switch and have my usual EQ setting, with some slight adjustments. Basicaly mids flat with a slight bass and treble boost. Really liking the way it sounds. Definitely has more booty than my sterling, and overal a slightly more polite tone. The highs are a lot different than the sterling in series. It has a tighter popping sound, more focused. Hard to explain but anyone who has a sterling knows that in series the sound is a bit more 'free' and less focused. Same deal here . I just like the paralell on this bass a lot more than the parallel on the sterling, probably because of the new preamp (?).

Strings are getting a little broken in... its a slow process. heh.

Figgy, that is flat out one of the sweetest StingRay 5s I have ever seen.

Dang that bass looks killer.

How the move to another 5 treating you? Good I hope. Ive yet to play a 5 string that feels like an SR5. Good for EB, bad for everyone else.

Its not bad at all. Ive owned a 5er once in the past, but the tone wasnt for me so it was sold. That was before i discovered EBMM. I love the sound of the low B on this thing. Fingerstyle isnt too uncomfortable, slap is still a bit weird, but within 2 weeks im sure ill be completely comfortable. I havent had a lot of time to play since Spring Break is nearing an end for me and i have a LOT of work to do. Once i get some free time (maybe next weekend) I may learn some covers to get used to the B a bit more. All ive been doing so far is what i usually do when i practice; just some runs and finger exercises, with some (ok,a lot) of fast paced slappity slapitty bumpity thump twang crap that i do. Just stuff to get my fingers used to the neck.

Its a wood-carrier, we havent had many fires this winter :p

Yes, yes it is. When my guitarist feels like jamming on some drop d cover, and he quickly detunes his guitar, often I dont feel like it. Now I dont have to :p
