The Fender P meets the StingRay and gets beaten with the ugly stick.

I want it.

for 399 to have a decent sounding beater bass around, for when I'm jammin with some dudes and want to drum or guitar, i don't want them touching my good basses.

i'd cover it with something though.

like umm...

hmmm....

maybe i'd chrome plate it or something

I was expecting something really hideous. I don't like it, but I've seen worse. I would like to hear the reasoning behind combining a MM pickup with a mudbucker.

Why are you ditching the SR4 SUB? Are you getting the new Sterling SUB? (You may have already said and I forgot. You know about CRS, don't you?)
Mo,
I spent more on the Hamer than I thought I would ever pay for a bass, ( couldn't pass it up) and taking in consideration I only need one bass to play in church I just don't need one hanging around. I'd rather spend money on antique fishing lures, like today $326.00 for lures. Also, I might buy the Sterling SUB yet when the wood problem is fixed.
In all honesty, the custom Hamer is awesome.
I also intertained the idea of buying a real cool pickguard and knobs for the SR Sub and let it hang around for awhile.
THE SAGA NEVER ENDS !!!!!!

Hey check out the description:

"The tone of this bass is warm and clear with excellent clarity."

Sounds like a great deal until you read the fineprint... go on... check out the very bottom of the ad. If you squint really hard, and turn your monitor on its side it reads, "Bass is 399, does not include the mandatory $500 for the standard shipping silica pack."
- I knew it was too good to be true!!!
