time to change the battery........open the compartment on the back of my Sterling....take old one out,put new one in.........yes the poles are correct......

....and BAM!!!!!!...................i turn on the amp....turn up the bass, and i get this nasty noise..........WTF?

now my baby won't play at all.

the amp is good......ran the keyboards and drum machine through it,as well as my son's bass........works fine.

tried the Sterling in my other amp......nothing.

i've changed my batteries many times before and never had a prob..........

why now?..........what happened?

and the kicker is.......psychicpet is at NAMM.........and i can't take the bass in 'til he gets back.

please hurry back Pete.

i guess it's a good thing i pick up my acoustic bass today.

Two things you can easily check without worry:

1. Does the battery fit properly? 9 volts are sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. If it's even a little bit loose, put a folded piece of paper under the non-business end to wedge it in and then try it. If it works, take the short battery out and go buy longer batteries.

2. Check the connections to the battery compartment.

Good luck!
