That's the info the owner gave me. I don't know how accurate it is. However, going by the aucton pics, it does appear to have a narrow neck.

I seem to remember having a conversation with Jon about basses built for artists...Paul McCartney has a Sterling....and I think, although I might be making this up, he mentioned Sting.

I'd say on pedigree (Sting) and unique-ness alone, $1100 is a steal.

The bass says Stingray "special" but it gives no name. It was more than likely made for an artist. We will check with Dudley.

I'm a pretty big Police and Sting fan, and I recall him mentioning in interviews that he has rather large hands and I would think thats one of the reasons he has been favoring "baseball bat-sized" vintage P-basses and what he prefers. I would think a Stingray neck would have been more applicable.


Of course he did play a '62 Jazz quite a bit too..........sheeesh......I'm stumped :eek:
