Hello all:

I played a gig this past weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. I stayed with some friends up there Friday-Sunday night. Late Sunday night while we went to see "The Village" (good movie by the way) - my Honey Burst SR5 was stolen from my friends apartment!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe this ****?!?!?

The police was called and there's a police report and all - but stuff like this never works out.

I have a call into my insurance company, but since it wasn't my home that it was stolen from - it looks like I'm out of luck. The friends I was staying with don't have any renter's insurance or anything like that on their apartment.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - but the outlook isn't good. Unless the police recover it, I don't know what I'm going to do.... This really sucks.

You know? - I feel so violated...

I have no good advice for you, Chris, but I'm extremely sorry to hear this.

I hate thieves. There is something about the act of stealing that causes bad chemicals to flood my brain. It would not be good for me to catch someone in the act of stealing something from me.

Post photos and whatever else you can do everywhere on the internet. TB has a forum for stolen gear. I'll sticky a thread over at the Pit if you'll write it.

Be on the lookout. eBay and pawn shops in the area.............

...and just sorry to hear it, bro.

Thanks Jack - I'm supposed to call an officer in the PD in Cleveland later today. We'll see what happens.

What Jack said. Do you remember the serial number? Keep on eye out on eBay and other websites for basses that look like yours. And then ask the seller for the serial no. And then... attack! Grrr.

I also had my QSC PLX 2402 there also. They didn't touch it all - all they took was my SR5 and some of his CD's... :(

No my stupid @ss didn't record the serial number. I just bought it June 14, 2004. I'll look through my stuff to see if I have it -

New bass, no brain... That kinda thing.

I hear you. I've never had anything "big" stolen before - but this is really pissing me off. The PD asked, if caught, would I press charges? Hell yes. I'll press more than charges - I'll press my foot up his @ss!

For some reason, I'm not taking this very well.

I was under the same impression. I called my agent and she's looking into it. She said she wasn't sure    Whatever that means... We got the best policy that was available - if it's not covered, well........

Hm... Bass gitir insurance, you folks say? I didn't know there was such a thing! Anyway, how much do you guys pay per month and what kind of coverage do you get?

Chris, I do hope you find your bass. And I do hope you find the culprit(s). And I do hope you rip 'em a new one. And I do hope you take photos.

Not seperate insurance for bass; it's covered as personal property on my regular homeowner's insurance policy. Once a year I try to update the list as I acquire and "dequire" equipment just so they know. :)

wow, that is absolutely weak.

I learned my lesson once aboutthat kind of thing, now I make sure they are covered before even signing any contracts.

wherever you bought it should have the SN on file.

get the SN to the police ASAP!!! i cannot stress that enough, without the SN you are SOL, seriously.

I have a 4500 custom shop stratocaster stolen from me several years back, and I didn't have the SN, it was a recent aquisition...

once again, get the SN to the fuzz asap, if someone broke into the apartment, they are most likely going to pawn the bass soon afterward, before there can be any police report fully filed, but you can beat them!

i feel your pain.

No I already checked the invoice. There's nothing on it but the retailers and EB's standard part number.

I'm sure that everyone here is in agreement that it truly sucks to have something stolen from you. I do hope that either the insurance comes through or you find your bass.

No matter how hard you work to get what you have, there's alway someone out there waiting to take it from you. If you believe in karma, you will know that they will get their just reward in the end.

Well I don't know about Karma... but I do believe what goes around comes around. One way or another... or another... or another...
