Sounds like grounds for cancelling a policy, and finding someone new, to me.

Unfortunately, it also reminds me that I still need to go through and take digital pictures of all of my stuff and burn them to a cd for the bank deposit box...

OH YES - I will be getting a new insurance company. They handle our auto, home and business insurance - not for long!!

i feel your pain, i would probably shoot myself if someone stole my beast.

it sucks, but unless they recover your bass, you are s.o.l

also, did they steal anything else? if they did not, it sounds like it was an inside job.

cd's? nah, that sounds like an inside job, like someone who knew it was there, and grabbed the cds just to make it look like something else.

i had my house robbed, left my music man(cause he didnt know any better) and grabbed a mexican p-bass and an ibanez sound gear bass(cause it looks nice) along with a stereo, tv, vcr, playstation2, my friends xbox, and jewelry.

Regardless, why didn't they grab my QSCPLX amp? It was leaning up against the MM case?

Your logic doesn't make a damn bit of sense, sorry.

Did ya ever think that maybe they saw him go in the apartment with a case, and then leave?

If I was a thief, I'd certainly grab a bass case, and get the hell out of there. How many arms do you think a person has?

Because it was probably heavy. And, if someone doesn't know musical gear, they will grab a guitar case and run. The amp just looks like a 'box.'

i believe this calls for two things (or three).

get a really heavy bass.
get a really nice bike lock and lock the case to something immovable.
never leave your bass anywhere.

im wary of insurance policies.

don't be quick to jump to a new company just because you didn't know their policies regarding items of 1500 or more, I knew that with mine, all my stuff was registered except what got stolen....

also, i tried to claim it anyway, and they said that across the industry, if you try and make a claim over 1200 dollars (custom shop strat), in the first year of coverage, then they will cancel your policy and not pay out, it's weak.

you are buggin.

even if i saw someone walking in with a guitar case. if i was going to go throug the effort and the risk of breaking and entering, i would be taking much more then a bass.

I think his point was that it's a question of limited number of limbs and opposable thumbs.

Unless the crime was committed by an arthropod or perhaps a particularly industrious cephalopod.

Bingo. One person can't steal as much as three people, right?

To simply assume that since it was only his bass and some cds that it was an inside job is like assuming when I sneeze and it starts to rain that my sneezes cause it to rain. One simply doesn't follow the other.

Oh, and when I sneeze it DOES start to rain, so don't push me, Pal....

Granted, the image of an industrious cephalopod is going to give me nightmares.

now an inside job would be this.

you buy all this expensive gear, and then the jerk off who works in accessories watches the salesman sell the stuff, then looks up the dudes address and goes to his house and steals the stuff when he's not home.

this has happened with music gear, and it happens all the time with car stereos, either that or the sales guy gave out the address.

i never give my address to anyone at a store, they don't need it, and by law they cannot require it for credit card transactions. And i can send in the warranty card myself thank you very much.

that or i give a fake address.

Post any and every picture you have of it. It may not be recovered unless seen by someone that is aware of what has happened. Make it known to all that some dink wad stole your bass
