There are few EBMM guitars that wouldn't interest me and this is one of them , but one thing you can be sure of is that it will be put together by one of the best guitar manufactures there has ever been.

This axe, while non-standard in terms of looks that are all based on 1950s designs, catches your eye and is intriguing to the point of wanting to try it, whereas something like the Pontiac Aztec grabbed your eye because it was so horrendous no matter what good light you tried to view it under and you just wanted to X your fingers and scream at the top of your lungs "GET BACK YOU DEVIL CREATURE, GET BACK!"

Well-said!!! :)

Wow - that is a really unique and cool looking instrument. To me it's along similar lines of some really unique looking guitars that have come out of Europe over the last 5-10 years with the different levels/carves/etc. - I'm thinking of the Hartungs although of course the EB guitar looks nothing like them, just that they both use that cool 3-D carving effect; the EB guitar is a very American shape and like others have said reminds me of the 1960s Corvette Stingrays.

I always said that if EBMM would do a shorter-scale guitar I would be back - hell I was just hoping for say a shorter-scale Reflex or something like that. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one hoping for an eventual roll-out to production.

I like the idea of a short scale neck-through regardless of looks, though this one looks really cool. Love the binding on the neck and the curved top.

Interesting style. The pics are indeed very much cruel and unusual torture. I dig the Fire-bird-esque and single-cut-ness .... the 'vette lines ..... damn ..... I really did not need to see this ..... any chance of this makin' a tour up to Toronto, Canada?

cheers always, eh

I might name the guitar "Arc"; the back is arched; it is also the shortest distance between two points (we live on a mostly spherical planet).

Personally I love it! If this was hanging on a wall at a guitar shop (Love it or hate it) you would definitely take notice! This may sound crazy but it looks American! Reminiscent touches of Classic US Automobile / Art Decco 20th century meets 21st Century.....This is a Coupe Deville!!

I have always loved designs "outside the norm" and this one is no different. My favorite EBMM of all time is the bongo. Yes, I have beaten it to death and still love it. The looks, the sound, the tone, etc. I really like this new axe as well. Can't wait to get my paws on one. Like it, love it, or not....that is just personal taste. I happen to love the design and look. Old school look with modern technology thrown in. The freedom given at EBMM to design is very remarkable especially in this day and age. Kudos to you Pops and to your crew. Never settle and I know you won't.

The worst suggestion I've read in these comments is the one to have a solid figured maple top. Yeah... that'll mix things up... Jeesh. Some people are so set in stone. I can't imagine being so boring. I love my two Als, Bongo, Axis, and carved top on my Stingray 5. Those aren't shapes that you'd ever see on a status quo guitar. Maybe that's why I love them so much. Your design team has incredible intuition in regard to body design. This is just another example. Instant classic!

You know what, you guys brought up some really good points about design stuff. I'll reserve judgement until I can actually get one in my hands and go from there.

This is gonna be awesome. Can't wait to try one. I just need two more guitars to perfectly round out my arsenal. I need mm90s which has been around already. And a replacement for my LP. And thank GOODNESS it's something new and fresh. The snorty grunt and snap of a setneck + short scale + stop tail is something I've been looking for ever.

It's gonnna be awesome!
