Hi everyone,

I am new here and happy to be part of a wonderful community. I have a very unfortunate problem that has me very distracted at the moment.

I own a music man JP6 mystic dream and low and behold I noticed a ding on the body just above the hand strap hanger.
Not sure what happened as I don't recall hitting it, but I am really not feeling happy about it. It is only about 2mm diameter but I can see the wood.

I guess my question is can this be fixed and if so how? I do not feel comfortable at all doing it myself, but maybe you know of someone I can send it to to get repaired so it looks new again? I know this may seem overboard, but I am anal like that I guess.

In any case any support or recommendations are always appreciated.

Got any pictures? Maybe if we see the damage, someone can give advice if it is fixable or not? I agree with BP though, short of refinishing the guitar, there probably is no real way to fix it if it went down to the wood.
 
Make up a cool story about it, along the lines of 'This is where I used the guitar to stop a runaway bus full of schoolchildren and saved the day!'
 
My normal suggestion is to touch it up with your girlfriend's nail polish. Sadly I'm not sure they make "Mystic Dream" nail polish!
If it were a Fender you could call it a "Relic" & sell it for much more than it's worth!
 
I once bought a tiny bottle of auto touch up paint that was very close to the colour of my guitar. I dropped in a dab and I could no longer see the wood.

MD would be tough to match but you could get something close and at least the wood would be covered up.
 
You can fix it emotionally by closing your eyes, picturing any of Rory Gallagher's guitars and smiling quietly to yourself - how Zen is that!
 
Hey guys: This raises an interesting question... When I bought my Infiniti, the dealer offered me the option of purchasing a small (nail-polish sized) bottle of touch-up paint. Even though the car has a pearl finish, I now have the exact match in the unfortunate event of a ding. It would be outstanding if EBMM offered that as an option. You spend an extra $10 bucks when you purchase the guitar and you get a small bottle of touch-up paint. Or, alternatively, you call Customer Service/Parts and give them a valid serial number that matches the paint you want, and they sell you the paint.

It's a little nail polish bottle, so there's no worries about people making their own Mystic Dream or Dargie II, just enough for touch-ups.

Once you chip that paint, it'll never be as good as new, but if you had factory original touch-up paint, it'd be good enough for the 5-feet away view!

BP, is this something that you'd be willing to explore?
