Hey guys, the weathers changing again up here. Its getting to be quite humid and around 80-85 degrees. i just want to know what i should be doing to keep my petrucci in good shape. just some pointers you know? thanks

Get yourself some good lemon oil. Seriously. I usually oil every few months, but sometimes oiling going into a major climactic change or servere weahter pattern isn't a bad idea.

It's not about looks, it's about keeping the moisture in the wood in extreme weather. Noisy parrot.

Lemon Oil's fine for the fretboard, but keep it off the maple - see the FAQ for instructions on how best to clean and treat your neck (link's at the top of the page)...

I find that the advent of summer in Ottawa means a radical boost in ambient humidity, which in turn means I have to tighten the truss rods a little to re-introduce a slight relief that disappears as the necks swell with the increased moisture in the air... No biggie, but I have become a truss-rod adjustment expert living in this burg, I tell you!

The Lemon Oil won't kill the maple for cleaning purposes tho. I had to do a major major cleaning on the pearl redburst since it sat in that shop for like a year. Now it plays great. The birdseyes on that are way more pronounced than the Desert Gold tho. I should document them a bit better and post the pix.

Listen to Jimi y'all...He knows! But OC has a point too...Small amounts of lemon oil won't kill a neck, but its best for the rosewood.
