Get yourself some good lemon oil. Seriously. I usually oil every few months, but sometimes oiling going into a major climactic change or servere weahter pattern isn't a bad idea.

Lemon Oil's fine for the fretboard, but keep it off the maple - see the FAQ for instructions on how best to clean and treat your neck (link's at the top of the page)...

I find that the advent of summer in Ottawa means a radical boost in ambient humidity, which in turn means I have to tighten the truss rods a little to re-introduce a slight relief that disappears as the necks swell with the increased moisture in the air... No biggie, but I have become a truss-rod adjustment expert living in this burg, I tell you! :D

The Lemon Oil won't kill the maple for cleaning purposes tho. I had to do a major major cleaning on the pearl redburst since it sat in that shop for like a year. Now it plays great. The birdseyes on that are way more pronounced than the Desert Gold tho. I should document them a bit better and post the pix.

Listen to Jimi y'all...He knows! But OC has a point too...Small amounts of lemon oil won't kill a neck, but its best for the rosewood.

P.S. OC I'm glad you got the Pet working!:D
