How long was I gonna resist? I finally couldn't help it and just had to give in and get a Big AL.

A few months ago I was hanging with Scott, BP and the crew at the San Jose GC and bought a 25th guitar and Scotty said "dude, you have to get a Big AL - you'll like it." So, here we are... I blame Scott!

After all the raving about em I read and Ed's awesome video and review I couldn't hold out and bought one. I'll have it next week :)

He'll fit right in next to my little AL and (12 or 13 other MMs - I lost count)

I'm pretty psyched! Cant wait!

oh ya - forgot the specs.

Its Ice Blue, w/ tort guard, maple board and non-matching headstock.

The other night I was wondering what color combo id pick and that's what I came up with. So then I saw the other Big AL thread w/ pics of Brandts and mentioned I wanted something exactly like it. A few minutes later Brandt PMed seeing if i'd be interested in buying his - so i did :)

here's a pic from Brandt

:) im flattered.

It'll be a little while. I play in 2 bands; bass in one and guitar in another. anyways... the band i play bass in, our drummer got into a motorcycle wreck a while ago and was out of commission for a while. his hand's finally back to being in playing shape. we also just replaced our lead guitarist (he moved to LA) with a buddy of ours.

so needless to say there's gonna be some rustiness. but gigs will come and so will my unbiased review.

you deserve it!

Have you ever played a Big Al?

I find it has a semi bongo tone, not very aggressive like the sterling or stingray. I could be totally wrong as I only played it for a short period and it wasnt setup with the ultra low setup I love. I also find the pickup options are great but in my opinion the differences in some of the combinations didn't sound all that different, and made it seem a little over kill. Agian I could be off, ill see what you think about it since you be owning one and if you like the tone as we have very similar tonal preferences. Sterling H/S + SS strings + some pick action
