Just practiced with my old band last night, first time with the new PDN Bongo 5HH. And oh my lord, what have I been missing? What amazing tone! And the ability to blend the pickups is killer. The oiled neck plays like buttah. They had another bass player show up to audition (he had a sweet silver Ray 4h, BTW), and he was drooling over it. Everyone loved the tone.

To anyone that's on the fence about getting a Bongo, DO IT. You won't regret it!

That's nice of you. Are you the departing bass player, or did they bring you back after another one left?

I've got a friend who has been trying to leave a band for a few years now, and keeps ending up back in it as replacements leave. He plays guitar and bass, so he gets called back for both.

I'm departing. I'm in two bands, which is one too many. My other band plays the stuff I love most (hard rock/heavy metal).

I respect pickup balance knob players, ...but I believe I'm gonna be just fine with my incoming single H "sweet-spotted" Bongo! ;)

However, ...any time I tried a dual pickup Bongo, I finished with balance knob position approximately sounding like single H one!

In Jan 2013, I received my Bongo 5 HH. I spent a few months getting to know it, (and I flat out LOVE the really tight bridge H) and as I liked it so much, I pounced on a brand new Bongo 5 HS.

The paintwork and attention to detail is the best I've EVER seen on a guitar/bass.

Both have the new tuners, and they are cool!

All Bongos work great. I love the single H models which is all I have. And I put flats on all of them too.

I get killer bass our of all my H bongos. Which I have two of.

one 5 and one 6 string.

I have heard some killer playing on them 4 string bongos too.

If you have a bongo practice. It will help you become a musician.
