on this gig that i played on just the other day, we(the band ) had to go on stage with our instruments in our hands (reqested by the stage manager)
as i clime the frecking 4 stept that was there ...I SLAMED THE GUITAR neck first into the damn lighting pole that was near the stairs......
holy sh** the hole that was made between the 5th and the 7 th fret is.....
how should i say it heart breaking i guess it could never be fixed
and besides ....you can fell the fu***** hole with your fingers when you cross those frets MMMMMMMMAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!1

THE ONLY THING THAT COMFORTS ME IS.....ITS A FEN**** GUITAR NOT A EBMM

but it's still drives me crazy how did i manged to do such an idiotic act?????

hehehe... stuff happens... I remember a buddy of mine played this basement club in the mid-eighties, and towards the end of the second set he decides he's gonna do his uber-cool-shred-head swing-your-guitar-'round-your-neck-on-the-strap move... He grabs the bottom of the thing and hurles it up over his left shoulder...

...and breaks the headstock off his Larrivee on the stupid-low ceiling beams of this crap little no money bar...

...he was suitably pissed! ;)

Poor Lighting? Lack of glow in the dark tape on the steps?

If the club/venue you were playing is anything like when I was gigging (everything from Metal clubs to chinese lounges - you do what you've gotta do to pay the rent :) ), it was probably not really well lit. They do that so the barflys don't melt from excessive light :D If they sober up and see themselves they might explode :D

Sorry about your guitar - that always sucks. After a while they become war wounds - the highly modified strat I used as my main guitar all through my first 20 years of playing looks worse than SRV's "Number 1" '59 strat - big dings and scars, paint missing from friction and perspiration, discolored neck wood, rusted out hardware screws, poorly routed for a floyd, then filled and made into a hardtail, . . .

I believe Fender now make that exact guitar and charge a fortune for it ;)

We played the Top Rank in Cardiff MANY years ago.
Gig has finished, and we are catching the lift (elevator) up to ground level.
The lift has no closing doors on it and an acoustic guitar belonging to our singer was leaning in the corner of the lift.
As it goes up, the neck (headstock) scrapes against the wall, catches on a ledge and snaps like a stick of celery.
Good thing was - I didn't like the mean s.o.b it belonged to. - got ripped off by him along with a lot of others!!
