the red line on the pickguard is genious! i love it

Thanks! Me, too. Although, I have to say that it looks even better with the black comfort strap attached. Since the body is Sapphire Back, the pickguard looks more "at home" when there is something else just as black attached to the bass. :D

Looks like a first-rate job - Very nice! :D

I really like that pickguard. Was that a custom job? Black with just a hint of red is a good look -- my stealth Bongo is currently sporting TI SuperAlloys, and the red silk windings have a similar effect. Very sweet. I also dig the recessed straplocks.

I got the pickguard from Pickguard Heaven. http://pickguards.us/pricemusicman.html

It's in group "b." I bet the pickguard would look even better with stealth black, or gloss black.

Did you ever get the PM I sent to you about Liegia going to DC?

Heh--Sorry, HD, I completely forgot about this thread.

Installing the recessed straplocks wasn't too tough. All you need is a 3/8" drill bit, really. I used the rubber grommets because of the nature of the Bongo body--they wouldn't sit flush. I probably could have drilled a bit deeper to get them completely recessed, but I like the way the grommets match the input jack.

Cool - thanks!

Oops, I never remember to check my PMs. Sorry. I just enabled the feature that sends me an email when I get one. Anyway, PM headed back at ya.
