BONGO!!

I owned a Sterling from Guitar Center for about a week...played it at practice a couple of times, and it really didn't get much of a different sound than my 2 Stingrays. A couple of days later, I walk in, BS with the guys, and I spot this sweet looking Bongo, in one of my favorite colors. I've only played one awhile back, but this time I demo'd it for about a 1/2 hour. Wow...this thing had some very nice, tight low end...I was impressed. I went home, grabbed the Sterling, and traded it in!! The neck is quite a bit different than the Stingrays, but in a good way. It doesn't seem as rugged though....

Give me a few weeks, and I'll be able to make a true assessment, and comparison. Love the color...what's it called anyway?

I was thinking of a blue pearloid pickguard....NY Mets Fan...orange and blue...

Alright enough chat....

Congrats! I was looking for this on as a 5er because the colour would just be a blast next to my olivegold Big Al.

Please tell something about your opinion on the sounds compared to your Stingrays.

...and for pickguards: orange swirl might still be available...

Very schweet.
Took the new Bongo C.Pearl 5HHp to rehearsal for the first time last night (it's a 10 piece funk band) to "rave reviews."
Amazing instruments, glad you got one.

Cool man, very cool!

I'm sure now that Your dual HH side beat the HS one! :D

Anyway, those "crazy" Bongo colors makes life good and fresh, keeping it wonderful like it should be!

Show must go on! ;)

Well, I don't think I've played it enough to give a solid comparison. The low end is different though. The Stingray has more of a growl, where I can coax a rounder-thumpier low end on the Bongo. I'll give it a real test on Tuesday and Thursday next week when I take it to band practice. We play classic rock & pop, along with a little blues. The body is very comfortable though, and it seems a bit lighter (weight wise). I do however, enjoy having the Low-Mid EQ...keeps things punch with a touch of smooth.
