Left, the rolls burgundy I picked up from Ben over the weekend. Right, the brand spankin' new blue pearl Bongo HS I ordered a while back, and which came today.

The single H makes me very happy. That wonderful, powerful point-and-shoot simplicity makes it a killer rock and roll machine. This is the one Ben strung up with High Beams (right?) and I may be leaning back towards keeping rounds on a bass or two. You bleeb dat?

The HS is just amazing. Is this the new single coil Dudley re-designed? Man, what a thumpin' noise it makes! I've only played it for about an hour (haven't even got the straplocks on yet) but I'm also quite happy with the Slinkys. What is HAPPENING TO ME?

Anyway, just a quick snapshot or two to prove they're real.

And yes, the rosewood on the single H is a lot lighter than the rosewood on the HS. Looks odd together but I like the contrast.

They both deserve better photos and they both shall have exactly that.

You boys do good work, Jon.

I might get preferential pimp delivery service, but both of these came off the line just like everyone else's and they both just kill.

I shall toast you and Dargin and Dan and Dudley and Sterling and Beth and Brian and Drew and the other Jon and everyone else a little bit later while I play some Elvis Costello on that blue Bongo.

Jack, we definately need a group shot. We also should try to get as many different color Bongos as we can in one shot. That would make some killer wallpaper.

Ho, that would be fun. Presently, I have:

- sapphire black
- envy green (sold to strummer but still here for the moment)
- desert gold
- rolls burgundy
- blue pearl
- logan green w/flames

Plus yours adds:

- medallion gold
- black

Who else is nearby? Larry, but I think he has Desert Gold, right?

So Jack, what's the difference between the single H5 you used to have and this new one except the color? Any difference in tone or weight? Why'd you let the DG go and get a burgundy?

And by the way, when I saw that title I really thought that you had HH Sterling/Stingray info for us!!

Well, we have never met, but I am in the DFW area and have a 4HH in Lava Pearl.

The rolls needs some lemon oil on the fret board. Send it to me I will fix that. Will get it back to you within a year or two.

Seriously, we need to make this happen soon. I think we owe it to the forum really. Maybe sometime over the upcoming holiday.

No difference except I was dumb enough to let Ken have that one! That was a really good bass and...well, and nothing. I'm glad to now have a representative sampling of all the possible pickup configs, minus the piezos.

Nah, it's just a bit lighter than the other one. I'll oil it up, though, the next time I change the strings, just because it's something I do.

Tim, you're in Lewisville? I'm in Highland Village. Next time we have a BassFest, we'll have to invite you.

I know, I know, but I had so many HH models, it was beginning to get weird, and with the original black sapphire fiver around, ED (the envy green) was spending all his time in the closet.

Even with ED gone, I'll still have one HH 5 and two HH 4s.

humbucker overload!
