How old would this string be? It has a Anaheim P.O. box address on the packaging wrapper.

That's interesting. Do you have any clearer photo's?
I don't know much about where that string would have come from. Perhaps Music Man made a run of strings prior to Ernie Ball? I'll see if I can get someone to chime in about it ..

I can tell you that it's probably 20+ years old. If I'm wrong, I will eat a jar of peanut butter.

^^That's not punishment at all!!!!
Now....
If you let the Aussie members to convince you to eat a jar of Veggiemite, that would be punishment!

the problem is when you try it (vegemite) you put way too much on your toast. At the moment I'm reluctant to put anything on my toast as I think my toaster is trying to tell me something ;)

That's an interesting string package!

We've got a bunch of the ancient Ernie Ball string packages with "Made in USA" on the front. They are so old that the envelopes are yellowed and the shrink wrap is cracking (when you order singles they come shrink wrapped in groups of 6). I'll go find a pic.

EDIT: pic showing the differences

I sent some of these to Dargin a few months ago but he wasn't sure just how old they really are.

Here's a better photo for you Jodizzle. The paper wrapper has yellowed I see, and there is no part number like the 1009 on those old Ernie Ball packages that Pete added.

As a matter of fact, albeit a little-known one, the old Music Man Company of Anaheim had a full range of accessories, including individual strings. Wonder where they got that idea??

take a look:

As I recall, Ernie wanted us to do away with the ".009" and go to the simple "9", "10", etc right around 1999-2000. BTW they are still very much made in the USA - now it states it on the flap.
