When I was at the Philly Guitar Convention on Sunday, I saw the one-off SR4 Classic which is the modern day "Old Smoothie". I'm now the proud owner of the new "OS" hehe... This is one time in my life I can say I was in the right place at the right time....

yes the only difference is that old Smoothie was the name that LEo gave it because the pickup is hand made and has the strings going inbetween the pole pieces

I never knew I was an up and coming star.....hahaha

Yea the hand-made pickup is a beauty, very cool feature on the original.

Very cool story about this Old Smoothie! :)

I wonder how sounds this 4 banger with that custom 5&5 pole pieces pickup?
Very interesting pickup solution!

Yeah it was because of how hot leo made the prototype pickups along with the massive magnets I kept wanting s different sound...He looked at my old 57 p bass and said "you know the strings are between the pole pieces here...let me make you one....This pickup is hand made by LEo....I came to get it and he said "I really like it...I call it "Old Smoothie"
For awhile he wanted top make it a model but we got everything dialed iin and it wasnt necessary...It still sound different and pretty cool though....

May I ask why it has a Canadian maple leaf type symbol on the headstock?
