This equipment was purchased from the personal estate of a former, long time Musicman Co. Amp designer and I have several more of them, plus amp parts for sale too! So, take a look at my other auctions.

Hm. Maybe some pre-production prototype? The knobs are wrong as well.

THis thing is real. It isnt ours per se but this could be a piece of history for you wacko's
This looks like it was from Tommy Walkers estate. I didnt know there was a sale. Tommy was always tinkering and this may be one. I will have Dudley comment.

Yes, this is definitely a Tom Walker prototype pickup and preamp. I recognize the knobs because I still have some of these and use them on test fixtures, etc.

Tom was a wonderful man and I learned a lot from him. I just heard last weekend that the was an estate sale, and this confirms that it did happen. Wish I had known about it- like I need more stuff!!!

Wait...EB bought MM in 84. The Silhouette, which the SR5's styling is based on, was introduced in 86. The SR5 was introduced in 87. Where does that Tom Walker preamp fit into the timeline?

Tom walker worked for us until probably early nineties..His house was only about three blocks away and he used to ride his bicycle...he would go home for lunch and it was a cool sight ...nobody knew this old geezer on the bike helped shape rock n roll.

After he retired he would come over from time to ime. Dan Norton would makle cabinets for his experiments...he never stopped tinkering until the day he died.

I repeat to those of you who dont know but I loved tommy walker and learned so much and I really miss that guy.

Broke as I am, I tossed a bid in on that just because I thought it would be cool to have something from the legendary TW.

I wasn't even close.

BP, makes you wonder what else was in that estate sale, doesn't it?

That is a pretty interesting story. This guy seems to say he is going to have a lot more for sale from the vaults real soon.

Somebody should grab up as much of this stuff as possible and return it to the EBMM Museum of R&D.
