Hi, I don't know if OLP thread is allowed here but I do have some questions and I really need help.
2 weeks ago I saw a used OLP Luke for cheap and decided to get it for a backup of my EBMM Luke. I noticed that the finish is indeed AWESOME!!
...
The tuning machines hold pretty good and the nut is pretty ok. The electronics is a little bit weird (500K Pots for active circuits?? never see that, but it sounds great though, it came pretty close with the EMGs so I'm pretty happy..
)
Now the problems lies on the bridge. The bridge really..and I mean REALLY!! feels cheap. The saddles and the mounting studs feels like it was made out of plastic. The base plate is pretty thick and sturdy though, no complains about that one. The tremolo block though....it is a really typical small little blocks that often used for Chinese guitars.
The unit is working but it doesn't feel smooth so I am actually thinking about changing the whole unit. Anybody here has any suggestion for a replacement unit that doesn't require a re route on the body? I would hate to re route the body since the finish is soooooo great...
any suggestion? thank you
