Do you think having OLP out there making cheapier versions of EBMM hurts EBMM sales?
Yeah good one- I also think EB "makes" from the sales of OLP's too, I'm sure BP mentioned this as being a great deal he has made but I hope my memory is correct - cos otherwise he'll shoot me down !!!Nah, it introduces the EBMM's to a cheaper market. The OLP's aren't bad for the money and I know Koogie had one that he use to take on travel with him.
Let's say some kid starts playing, his folks buy him an OLP. Then after a few years and the kids really serious is folks spring for the real thing, it's win, win for both companies. It introduces the EBMM design and it becomes burned into their brains!!! Hahahaha

Bingo. EB benefits by licensing their trademarks to this other company (which probably helps them defend the trademarks down the line) and in having entry-level MM style products out there for prospective future customers. So is OLP an independent company or an division of some other large guitar manuacturer, very curious.
