I was 15 when I started (sooooo long ago !!!)
I dreamt about a Gibson SG. Me and my friend stood in front of the window drooling over them. We both wanted to play bass - spun a coin - he won so I ended up becoming a "6 stringer!"

I started with a cheaper model - a watkins rapier and got my gibson sg later.

So start off small and aim high. You don't have to start with the guitar of your dreams but oneday you'll get there.

I started 3 years ago, with a Squier Affinity Strat, which I still play. Don't get me wrong - I really think that I'm not worthy of that guitar :D ...but if my brother really wants to buy it for me - I can't do anything. :) ...and not that I would mind A EBMM... :D

A few hours ago he asked me what's the price of my music school. He wanted to upgrade it from 30 to 45 minutes a week.

He is so good... words cannot describe it :)

That is really cool of your brother to do that for you.

Now, once you get that, you need to write a nice tune for him. Then you need to write one for your Mom who is working hard for you.

That is indeed a really nice gift and I hope all works out for you and your family.

+1
I was thinking this exactly - you beat me to it.
