Is that maybe a JPXIII in silver?

Digging the white/silver so far......definitely digging that. Debit card is out and ready to go.

Looks like the 1st fret inlay says "13" so I am assuming that is a JPXIII and not the 'stallion'.

Stallion will not makes its debut.....we are still working on it...the 13 is something JP and I came up with...this is a really cool guitar...back to 17" radius......basswood with toneblock and maple top.....rw fretbopard and the new preamp system that totally and transparently cleans every thing up...you can set the level to up to a 10db boost.....JP is loving it as does Luke in the L3 Only comes in silver NOte that we now use the shape of the inlay to identify it as a JP and just put the number in the inlay....????

I just noticed no "Ball Family Reserve" at the 12th fret.....will there be a 12th fret inlay?

Really digging the color! Some feedback on the inlay though, I understand that there are many different variations of the guitar but, anyone who knows their Petrucci guitars will instantly be able to know which model it is via color. Having a big 13 at the first inlay just seems tacky to me. I want to be representing JP not the number 13. It's cool and all that its a NEWER model and of course when I buy a new guitar I want people to KNOW its the newest of the new but, I like to explain that myself, in person. It gives me an opportunity to explain about the evolution of the guitar, what I like about it, what I like about EBMM in general. It's a much better experience beging able to set myself up for a conversation like that. This is also good on a company stand point too. Creating a word of mouth scenario.

Here's another way to look at it. iPhone is on its 5th generation and its obvious for anyone who knows anything about iPhones to see its the new one. Due to different design. The same way color would identify generations of the JP line. You don't see a big 5 on the back of the phone identifying it as such. A simple , elegant logo is sufficient. I've always though of the decals on EBMM guitars very elegant and subtle. This is just my opinion though. Many may like the 13 in the shield as oppose to the JP.

Edit: I suppose having a 13 as oppose to the JP wouldn't make one talk any more or less about their guitar. Guitar quality and customer service is what drives customer to being promoters rather than detractors.

I dig the numerical system. The font on the 13 isn't tacky looking at all. It's edgy and sweeping style echo the horns, in my opinion. MM is their own thing and I appreciate them for that. Who says apple should be the template against which they scrutinize their own designs and choices anyway? Stay different.

I like the JP shield... It is very marketable as well as the BFR inlay. Something about that BFR 12th fret inlay gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It makes me feel like i'm a part of a family... whoever came up with the BFR inlay you have to give them props... it screams quality!

Different strokes for different folks as they say.

I try not to compare everything to Apple but, it's hard for me not to be such a fanboy sometimes.

Like I said, the guitar is beautiful! Love the different features its going to bring to the table as well. I just have a hard time accepting change sometimes. The JP has been on the first fret for as long as JP has been with Music Man. I think the graphic looks awesome. The 13 itself isn't what I thought was tacky and perhaps I shouldn't use a word with such strong negative connotations but no others come to mind. I'm sure ill grow to love it in time.

Indeed. The shield inlay is probably my favorite thing about the guitar aesthetically. I wouldn't ever want the shield to go away. I just want the guitar Gods initials in it.

Agreed, the BFR inlay is the Tits.

devin.....sometimes it would be great if you thought a little before hitting send.

SO you didnt mind the 10, 11 or 12, You analogy that Apple didnt have to put a giant 5 on the iphone plays into the desgn here....we didnt have to put a giant JP...the shield tells you it is a jp

Yeah, you're right. The logo was changed annually. I guess just the fact that there is no JP anymore threw me off. Over reaction on my part by far but it was just my initial reaction. I haven't even seen a High Res photo of it yet.
Really, im more interested in the rosewood fretboard and built in preamp! That sounds so awesome! Does anyone know if rosewood generally produces a warmer or darker sound? How would you compare it to ebony?

I didn't mean for my feedback to offend anyone. It's only natural for there to be criticism about any business decision but obviously, they're as successful as they are for a reason. BP has a very clear vision for his product as does John for his instrument.

I've never been nothing short of blown away by any MM guitar I've been able to get my hands on.
