BP's car blows up, Stanky tries to change Heinz's name (fortunately it was a hoax), and now the group I play in may try to convert me over to rhythm guitar. This could not come at a worse time as I am trying to raise the funds to purchase a new EBMM bass (hopefully 30th SR). I truly consider myself these days a bass player first , guitar player second. Crazy days indeed! :eek:

Covert I say, convert!!!! Let no bass player remain unconverted is our declaration!

Even though your a bass player, we fully understand, in fact we offer counciling with your first guitar. Then, you'll be able to handle all the "stigma" our converts
endure!! LOL

You'll be a "mystery" among your peers. They'll never know what you "up" to! Besides, now you can justify having two different categories of everything!

On the bright side, from the posts it seems like at least five forumites got new basses this last week.

I've been "converted" several times over - keys > guitar > bass > repeat... (haven't been asked to take over lead vocals for more than a song or two :). But, bass is where it's at - especially live.

I left that one out because Richie wasn't there agitating the monkey - great story Rich. :D

The biggest shock came this morning when my wife said "If really still want the bass than get it. This is from the woman who has told me "NO" so many times that I had almost given up trying to buy any instruments. She is right about buying the bass. The last time I owned a bass in the pro range I kept it for 9 years. And it was my go to bass.

If I do some guitar work at our church I will also be giving a young bass player a chance to play. Our sound man got married this year and his wife plays bass. She has not had a chance to play since she got married and left her church. So the last thing I want to do is smash a chance for another bass player to gig a little. That would be too guitarist like:D.

I will ignore those guitarist convert remarks. I will consider myself a musician first before getting pigeon holed into a guitarist only label. That has such Wal-Mart sort of feel to it.:rolleyes:
