DavidLeeding is correct. All Morse guitars (Y2D included) are shipped with 10-13-16-26-32-42 and tuned standard.

yea i noticed a little while ago someone posted something like "Instead of buying the singles why not make artist custom gauge sets in one pack?"

So if one wanted to just stick with standard 9s or 10s, would it be that big of a deal to keep the guitar set up properly?

Paranoid, you could probably throw a set of 9's or 10's on it without making any adjustments. If the action comes up a little with the 10's, tighten the truss rod. If you get a little buzzing with the 9's, loosen the truss rod. Other then that you should be fine.

I couldn't be bothered trying to buy singles or create hybrid sets so my Y2Ds are both set up with Super Slinky 9s.

Minor adjustment on one, nothing required on the other.

BTW, the ESP Max Cavalera signature comes with only FOUR strings (the trebliest ones are taken off) as this is the way he strings his guitars

I remember seeing Sepultura open for Sabbath quite a long time ago. On the way to the show my brother was telling me about Sepultura. He said "One of their guitar player only uses four strings on his guitar - he's an overachiever."
