It is truly a beautiful thing when so many people can come together and do something so generous and inspiring.
My absolute best regards and utmost respect to each and every forum member who signed the guitar, and to all the fine people at Ernie Ball Music Man who were part of this.
And, my absolute best wishes and prayers for Rob and his family.
Robelinda- I'm not exactly a regular here so I haven't exactly been 100% up to date on your situatoin, but for what it's worth I truly hope for the best. I'm not the praying type, but as I sit here writing this I don't even know where to begine imagining the strength it must take for you and your family to get through this. I can't think of anything better than you sitting your son down years from now telling how much of a fighter he was and telling him the story behind this heartfelt gift that EBMM guys have sent y'all's way. Best of luck to your son, and know that you've got a lot of people behind you on this.
Wow I'm also speechless also. It just goes to show that there are kind people still in the world, Sterling you are one of them. Best wishes to you Rob and your family
I had the pleasure of meeting Rob at the Albert Lee clinic we ran in Melbourne - I'm so sorry to hear about your son, Rob. Prayers and thoughts from all of us here are with you.
Well done, Forumites, that was a great thing to do.
Rob congrats and it was a pleasure to have signed it man!! Our thoughts, hopes and prayers are with you guys. Having 2 girls dude, I couldn't imagine what you guys are going thru.
Enjoy it you deserve it, man if it where me, I'd name it after the boy, so that someday when he's older you can tell him the story.
This forum is unlike any forum I've been a member of. i've seen people dig into their own pockets on at least two occasions to help members keep or get back their guitars. And now, an act of support and kindness like this . . . . . wow!!!!! Honestly, it's unheard of these days. Something as anonymous and impersonal as the internet suddenly has a human feel to it.
BP, EBMM and forum members, you guys rock!!!!!!!! \m/
Rob, our contiued thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Rob hang in there bro. We are all thinking of you and your boy and praying for the best.
It is my sincere wish that one day you can pass that guitar on to your son so that he will know how many folks from across the world were pulling for him.
WOW! Great gift! Rob you deserve it. It doesn't replace what you're experiencing, but the smile on your face will no doubt tranfer itself to Tom.
Consider it signed in spirit by me and the Mrs.
That is truly the nicest and coolest Al I've ever seen.
I agree. It turned out great! I'm so happy that it did. I'm also so happy that I got to be a part of this gesture on the part of EBMM and this forum family. Thanks, BP, for posting. I was wondering if the instrument was finished.
Rob, see? I told you we couldn't forget you and your family that weekend. For an extra special touch, I even made sure to sign it after getting my hands all greasy from the barbecue ribs we had for dinner that night.
I wish you and your family the best. I wish you all the strength you need to get through this.
I'm praying for the day 15-20 years down the line when I see pictures on this very forum of some young AL toting guitarslinger posting pictures of him playing a Black Al that his dad owns with "All these weird names on it"
This is awesome. Rob, I wish you and your family the best of luck, of course. And I am wholly impressed by BP and the EB crew for doing this, not to mention all the forum members to get in on this! I'm fairly confident no other company would ever make such an overwhelming gesture. This on top of the last "gesture" to Paul (?) who recieved that spanking new BFR JP in Tobacco Burst... unreal.
It was a pleasure signing your guitar Rob (Thanks BP for the idea and allowing us to be part of this). I hope it does comfort you knowing that your friends are w/ you and behind you during this ordeal. Your family, especially Baby Tom, was always on my mind during the Bash and every day since I found out about Tom. As a matter of fact my 3 year old and I just finished saying our bedtime prayers and specifically aksed God for a speedy and full recovery for Tom.
