So I'm sitting out on the front porch this morning with a cup o' joe and my new Tangerine Pearl Big Al, learning some new riffs ("All I Wanna Do" is fun to play, BTW).

And I look down at this outrageously orange, bizarrely shaped thing with its mind-bending pickguard, and I think to myself,

"I've never seen anything remotely like this before."

Then I think

"Only nuts like me buy stuff like this."

And then it occurs to me that this is one reason why we are allowed to live instead of being eradicated like crabgrass.

If it weren't for Knuckleheads buying colors that no ordinary mortal would be caught dead owning, the EBMM bass world would consist mostly of half a dozen exciting variations on black and white, with the occasional burst sneaking in under the radar.

I feel like that commercial when the dude goes up to the person who just bought a new car & says take care of it, I'll be the 2nd owner. Don't scratch it, mod it, leave it in undue humidity... because this nut will buy that in a second if you put it on the market boss

Hey, my black sugar bongo would care to disagree with you about life being too short to play black guitars! I think you hurt her feelings!

I have a black sugar Big Al. A Black Magic Crystal SLO Special, and A Sapphire Black Big Al 5.. but none of them are just "Black" And you can always dress it up with a cool pick guard.

for those that have not seen BMC in person its actually a very deep purple blue with some flash..
But much like Aqua Purple Impossible to photograph.

Its not a matter of colour. If it comes in "Natural Finish", "Stealth Black", "Perloid", "Copper", "Dargy's Delight"... Just let it come from Uncle Ernie!

I'm just cheering that there is no "Roadworn" or "Relic" - option for MM Basses. I only want real Mojo on my axes. My Mojo.

Wear plain clothes, so any colour will fit....

So long - says Kong
