I just walked past my Bongo case, looked at it and my little heart went pitter-pat, again, for about the three-hundredth time, just thinking about how marvelous the Bongo is and how much I love playing it.

I've owned the thing for well over a year, and it still can do that to me.

Every cool toy can do that when it's new, but few other posessions have had the power to do that to me after this long.

I heart my Bongo.

i know how you feel, i've owned mine for abour 10 months now, and i still get the same feeling as i did when i first brought it home.

it is really an amazing bass.

during these 10 months, i have considered going on to 'higher end' basses like a modulus, a sadowsky or a roscoe.

but after playing them and then coming back to my bongo, the only one i would consider selling my bongo for is the roscoe skb-6.

to me that says something important, a 'normal' bass like a bongo gets my interest as much as a custom-handmade-exotic bass.

WOW:D

I had my blue HH for almost a year (10 or 11 months) when I decided I wanted to try something else. That lasted less than a month before I decided I had to have another one. Luckily enough for me, I was able to get mine back (thanks Randy!) and it should be delivered on Monday.

Only one other bass has even come close to my Bongo, and that was a custom built - everything like I wanted it - type bass. And even that didn't look as cool! :D

Bassmonkee, I love that photo. It shows the luscious Bongo curvature so well....

That's one of the things that surprised me when I first picked one up...how incredibly sexy and sensuous the shape is in real life. It just doesn't come across in photos.

I could go on with comparisons, but this is a G rated forum...suffice it to say that the physical reality is MUCH better than the photos, just like it is with members of the opposite sex.

Wait a minute...that came out a bit weird....

Oh, never mind. Just go find one, set it in your lap, look down on it and you'll see what I mean.

I believe if ox becomes oxen, then Axis becomes Axum.

Much like horsum and snakum.

IE, "I turned that rock over and look at the snakum!"

Anyway. I heart my black sapphire Bongo very much today. I haven't played it in a while (busy ego-tripping, collecting basses, chewing terbakky, etc) and plugged it into the Markbass rig and played for just about three hours straight.

And I might go play it again.

And let's all remember the first redneck rule. "If you like 'em, play 'em, but don't get any bakky stains on your balls". :p

Coming up on two years of Bongoism myself, and I can only agree. Plus I can never get enough of the compliments from sound guys.
"Hey man, that's some great tone you dialled in!"
-Everything is flat.
"Wow, that bass kicks ass!"

Don't we know it:D
