Yeah, ditto on the fugly comment.

As for the Axis w/ Rio Grandes, it's easy to swamp 'em out for something else if you don't like 'em- the guitar is still affordable. (Bill Lawrence makes some killer P90 pickups and they're like $60 each. )

I'm reading about the pups now...hand wound in Texas, and apparently "THE ONLY PICKUPS INCLUDED IN THE GUITAR MAGAZINE'S TOP GEAR OF 2000!"

Man you had to spoil the hunt...now that deal isn't looking as good...its like dropping your icecream on the asphalt...its still edible, just pebbly! Actually I have only purchased one from the US and the seller halfed the value for shipping...heck I don't even know what they charge at the border...I'm winging it...

Please someone tell me why I shouldn't by either of these, or both(now that would be CRAZY!)
Well, besides the fact that the Silhouette has a hack paintjob, there's the little issue of both of them stating that they will ship to the United States ONLY, and last time I looked, you didn't live in the US...

Oh ya, and I seem to remember that someone had size issues getting a set of Grande P90s into an AL MM90, so this guitar may have had the pickup cavities enlarged (you can't tell by the picture)...

As a rule, I never jump on "spur-of-the-moment" Ebay buys anymore - too many things can go wrong. The only way I'd bid on either of these is if I could get their phone number and grill them voice for half an hour before the auction closed....

Yeah, people often say that but I find they'll usually ship to Canada. I often offer to arrange the shipping for them just to expedite things. At least two of my recent acquisitions had the sellers saying the same thing.

Just GST - so 7%. But I always lobby to get the seller to reduce the item's value. If it's a private seller and not a store they'll usually do it.

Worse part is the wait! I just imagine that some cowboy at the border is playing my guitar in the back of the warehouse while I'm going crazy waiting for delivery
:p

I had the opportunity to talk with my favorite EBMM dealer when he had the guitar. He originally purchased it for $100. The guitar was modified with more than just a paint job. It also has a one of a kind tremolo system. The original owner was trying to build and sell his new tremolo system and this just happened to be the guitar he put it in. I make no comment as to its’ performance as I don’t know. I personally wouldn’t buy this guitar unless I played it and found it fit my playing style. My dad always told me, “Son, Don’t ever by a pair of shoes without trying them on.” He also added, “You don’t have to buy every pair of shoes you try on.” Furthermore, this theory applies to more than shoes. Silly though, I only got to try 2 of the 9 EBMM’s I have purchased. Fortunately, I kept 8.

I'd go for the Axis, that Silhouette is gay looking, but if you decided to get the silo' i would recommend a refinish job, just my 2 cents, Good Luck on whatever you do !!! The air brushing is a pic of the grim reaper.
