I don't read no stinking tab nor standard notation nor do I play any one song the same way twice and my "money notes" are all above the 12th fret....but I do sing a mean "Yeow" but not generally on a 2 drink maximum.

diet pepsi's sidekick in the 60's........

hey tk......
any idea's on how to get the bass forum organized & married up w/ the guitar forum as far as a songlist & signup for the s.l.o. stage ????

I have no idea on how to get two people to agree on anything.

I think you have done a good job so far in your quest as I have read the guitar forum.

Maybe trya post willing to play and state no songs on the list.
Then another that says songs for the forum gig.

You have been trying hard and I see that. I am not going to make it so I hang out here and post when I have to just to keep my sanity.

Tab -> Tablature...

Graphical representation of the music - indicates what fret to play on what string.

No timing indicated. Best way is to look it over - check-out Guitar Tab Universe . :)

Thanks. Is any of that right?

Last hijack of the thread from me promise.

No, No. No.
Not spelling on this one.
Just so many guitarists I hear at the music store are always soloing.
solo. solo. Solo.

bummer !!!
i thought you were comming too...

i've seen some open mic nights go crazy.......so i figure i can hopefully help smooth this out. a little planning..or at least an outline will go a long way.
the signup sheet is suppose to be primarily an indication of who actually wants to get up & play. i'd like to keep that post in one location so it's less confusing.
mabey you (cause everyone over there knows you) could post a new thread over in the bass forum w/ a link to the sign up thread. i've read alot of your post & really seem on top of the place to me...so what do ya think ?
the songlist suggestion box is where everyone can take inventory of who wants to play what.....so we can pick the most popular stuff...& narrow the list down by fri.16th.....& give everyone a chance to get there little bands organized....
?????

I sure agree on a little planning making things better. I think the bass players that are going and willing to play have all went over to the guitar side to let it be known they wanted to provide some bottom for the gig.

Oldtoe took it over there for the bass players. So if you are reading this and haven't followed Mr. Toe over to the guitar forum go give it a whirl.

I appreciate your thinking I am on top of this place. I sure post a lot of that is what you mean.

As for the song list it looks like there is a thread in the guitar forum for that as well.

Bass players head on over name your songs on the list.

I will try and keep shut over here in this thread for the remaining time of the need for this thread.

I and a lot of others that aren't going to make it wish we could. I wish also that those of you who are going can just have the best time of your life ever.

I think it will happen.

Thanks

Before this thread sinks to obscurity.

I would like to thank the bass players on this forum for working with the guitar players on their side for the open house entertainment.

Nothing but class as each EB built deserves is what I have seen in this forum.

Thanks one and all

Long Train Runnin'

I expect to mostly partake of the "audience" activities - hootin' & hollerin' and wild applause & stuff...

But, should the opportunity present it self... I would love to do Long Train Runnin' by the Doobie Brothers with a couple of guitars (and someone who could sing) - that would be so cool!

I'll post over in the Guitar Forum (it's around here somewhere, I think) and see if there's any interest... :)

*Bump, er thump!*

Just wondering if any of this song-list / performance-teams stuff is coming together - less then a month to go! :D

The Guitar Forum seems to have similarly quieted down.

Brings up the question, "How long can we play?"
With choosing a guitar/bass, amp, tuning, etc. you're probably looking at no more than 7-9 songs an hour.

There's a pretty good chance BP will walk out after about song #4 :D

BP knows the business and way more than one person just like all of us. He will still be BP, don't try and suffer the wrath of BP :)

You all have fun there where I wish I could be.

Does anyone know who is doing the "vocals" for the jam, or is that up the the instrument players??

Anyway, if there is any bassist interested in doing any of these songs let me know. I play guitar, b/u vocals.

Montrose: Rock the nation, One thing on my mind,
Led Zep: Moby dick, Lemon song, Whole lotta love
Journey: Anyway you want it
Foreignor: Hot blooded
Bad Co: Can't get enough your love, Alright now
E. Money: Two tickets to paradise
Doobie: China Grove
AC/DC: You shook me all night, Back in black
