open house in slo for forum members only

Man that is cool - I don't think I can make it but thanks Big Poppa, it's a great feeling to know that EBMM is so considerate of its customers.

I mentioned it to my wife last night and she said "so why don't you go?" I was going to suggest that she go along, but I don't think she'd want to fly or more importantly be around a bunch of guys who'll be foaming at the mouth after the factory tour.

Hmmmm... What's the hotel situation in and around SLO? I guess I should probably do a few priceline etc. searches.

Not too bad...

Rental Car - $50
Roundtrip Airfare and Hotel for 2 nights - $600
The chance to hang out with some forum folks, meet endorsed artists, a cookout and factory tour at Ernie Ball - $Priceless

Better than I thought going coast to coast. Now if the dates will work out.

Right, I just hope its not the first 3 weekends of July, I have 3 weddings to go to! (No, not for myself!)

That is a very generous offer from Big Poppa - wich I could attend but a horrible thing called work will get in the way if it is anytime over the summer- I'll have a look when the dates are released. Unfortunately, my EBMM guitars are in storage - I may have to consider buying another...

Whatever happens at this thing, it's going to be Big Poppa and Dargin doing the planning. (not dwf1004 and Norm either  ) I don't know anything more than you guys as to what's going to happen or when, but Tommy, that would be cool huh?

Since it seems like a few of my ideas seem to be hitting, here goes another...

Up to now we have

1. factory tour
2. Q&A
3. Artist concerts
4. Set up seminar (possibly)

So I'd like to throw out, if any way possible, EB artist MASTER CLASS! :D

You could even charge something for this to cover food costs. Basically, you'd need about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour window (45 minutes to an hour each) and probably have to schedule some concurrently (space permitting).

So maybe we could choose 3, but have to choose between say Morse and Petrucci or something.

I think something like this would be extremely popular.

Keith,

While that's a cool idea, I think it trends away from the idea of a Music Man open house. The focus should be the instruments and the people and processes who make them. It would be great to see signature artists playing, too, but I think the Master Class is more about the players than the guitars. That's just my two cents, though, and I'm sure many others will be big on the idea.

I think it is awesome just for Sterling et al. to take time out of their schedules to entertain a bunch of guitar geeks, let us see the factory & prototypes, and not charge us a dime!

Dang!!!!! That sounds awesome!!!!! Kbaim, since they're listening to your ideas, you need to get them to offer some discounted items for us to purchase also!!!!! :D :D :D

Steve,

Maybe. Depends on how quick they'd want to get rid of us. But they could do an all day thing and include something like that.

Call it BALLSTOCK

:o

Don't get all excited, Norm...I was just saying that the powers that be are gonna plan this, and I am sure they will do an awsome job on their own. Trust me.

NorM doing his best not to be barred and failing miserably... pity the fool

My advice to you all is this...Let the company plan this thing. It is a gift to you all. I am sure it will be a great event. Don't mess it up by trying to dictate what it will be. It will be what it will be. And it will be good.
