Hello!

Need your opinions about Marshall 6100 30th anniversary head? Do you know this amp, what do you think about it? Some guys say that clean channel is exellent, and if i remember correctly, Satriani - and many other also - uses this amp.

Satriani left Peavey already? I remember reading something about it but I thought it was just an internet rumor as I thought they were making a new version of the JSX?

Well, Satriani used 6100 head in LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO, and in London last time main amp was JVM 410, clean channel was from JSX.
6100 should has very good clean channel - one of the best from Marshall.

one of the best sounding marshall that had been build!
the clean is excelent and it stays clean. the second channel is awesome - here you have the option of 3 different sounds by switching the "mode" buttons.
mode A is the classic plexi sound, nice overdriven sound.
mode B is the best sounding JCM800 2203 replica i´ve ever heard. i loved this mode as i used the 6100.
mode C is like the JCM900 series - a lot of gain but less dynamic.

and last but not least you get an smooth sounding lead channel with this amp, but you can push the leadsound really hard and make it an aggressive sounding channel as well.
the mid-contour helps you to get it evil!

parallel and serial effect loops, midi-switching for the channels, 25watts min. up to 100watts, speaker damping....

a lot of options and they are all usefull and sound good.
as said before - for me it is one of the best marshall ever.
the only marshall which has a nice crunch sound was my silver jubilee, but i could come very close to it with the 6100.
