OK, so BP usually busts our onions about complaining that EBMM should bring back Sparkles or Green or this and that but fellas, I just finished doing up a rough price list here at the store for customers in an older MM catalog(no dual p/u models or Y2Ds in it) and let me tell you.... the combinations for a "non-custom shop" manufacturer is staggering!
Krikey! soooo much to spend money on.... kinda like an MM90 Rosewood Axis with hard tail and piezo that'll be here very soon :rolleyes:

Indeed! If I'm getting my stats right, there are 800 different combinations available for the StingRay alone! This includes the finishes from the color chart, neck and headstock finish, and pickup configs available (pickguard choices left out).

Jack & I only do it for basses and the options are seemingly endless. I pity the dealers that also handle EBMM guitars as well.

...ok, 6 EBMM just ain't enough, BP already recommended a single H lefty Bongo... what's a lefty to do...

Agreed, there's a s**tload of available options.
Still, I think us knuckleheads will always be looking for what's not there, because we are, well, knuckleheads:D
I think that next time EBMM introduce a colour I find ugly, I'll buy it while it's available instead of bitch about it once it's discontinued:p

Be happy with the 6 you got thusfar?? Dunno...I only play 3 on a daily basis.
 
I guess I’m like my Dad, he always had 20 to 30 guns, he liked to trade them and shoot them. He was very into each one’s history and I made sure he had the current “Shooters Bible”. He just loved guns; I guess I’m sort of that way except I love basses. I keep all of mine in top notch playing condition, setup well and ready to play. But without a regular bass gig right now, I guess I’m a collector.

But as soon as lacrosse season is over…. Ah, who the hell am I kidding, I’m not going to have time for a gig till the fall… if then... But I do play my basses everyday and they make me happy.
 
And another thing…

I do have lots of music equipment, but I don’t have a lot of other stuff. I drive a 95 Toyota pickup, I only wear t-shirts, I don’t have a Harley, I mow my own grass (nobody does that in my neighborhood), and I have no other interest in anything but music.

The kids are going to collage, we will have a nice retirement, and so what’s wrong with having a few too many basses?

Amen to that. I don't ski. I don't play golf. Music is my hobby. Bills are paid. Retirement funded. Why the hell not. Besides, in this day and age, if I needed money, any of my instruments could be converted to cash in a heartbeat. The only issue that I grapple with is storage space.

This is the guilt free zone! No justification needed. I feel your pain and completely understand your sickness.

I have way too many Collings acoustic guitars....too many Martins, more odd stringed instruments than an old fart should have. there are bouzouki's mando cellos mandos mandola's,baritone ukes soprano ukes baritone acoustics, lap steels...Im in love with these things. They make me happy. I play them when I'm having a great day and the day gets better and same for the bad days.

They are great outlets for self expression. They are art pieces. I also know that these really truely have no home, I may own them now but in reality Im just temporary custodians of these babies. Im looking at my 1930's gibson black archtop tenor guitar that my grandpa willed to me whilst playing my 40's era martin uke that my grandpa passed on to my father and my father passed on to me.

I know this is kind of heavy and groovy but like I said we all share a common passion for stringed instruments. These babies are like a dog only they dont die on you and mess your lawn. They are truly mans best friend. Like pets you are kind of glad that they cant speak english! If my instruments could talk I'd be penniless!
