hi guys, I went today to my local music store to order my first EBMM, a Silhouette. It was after 5 p.m. and the EBMM dealer were closing so I wasn't able to order it today. The guy in store is supposed to call them tomorrow in the morning to make an order... the same guy asked me if I had played that axe before and I said NO, I just know that I won't be dissapointed (please guys, tell me I won't be  ) so it will be a Silo in Sapphire black with black pearloid pickguard, rosewood board and non-matching headstock so pretty close to OC's axe. Damn I'm so nervous, and that 4 months wait will kill me for sure  ,

late,

Philip

Hey man, that was a VERY good decision you made with the Silo. I havent played any other MM's, but MY NEW Silo came in this past Friday. Mine is Vintige Sunburst with rosewood and tremolo and matching head with a black pearloid guard as well. BLOODY amazing combination. But the SOUND and playability is the best I've played. I LIKE my Ibanez neck through a lot, but now I might as well not even pick it up. The Silo is INCREDIBLY versetile and has amazing tones coming from it. The ONLY change I am gonna do right now is to change the plastic nobs to the black metal dome ones. Anyway man, you will NOT be disapointed whatsoever, AND I'm sure you'll recieve it in less that 4 months. I waited for mine less than 3, and I am in NY. I pretty much recieved it 2 weeks ahead of the 3 month mark. But still the waiting period is the worst thing I had to deal with. But none the less this chpice you made is the BEST by far when it comes to buying a guitar. :D

I have 2 axis and a silo special, and my silo gets most of my playing time if not all, the body and neck are just so nice, but once in awhile i pick up my axos and I remember why I I bought them, they all own, but the silo is clearly my favorite, I did however change the pups on it but that will be a personal choice depending in what kind of music you play and how you want your guitar to sound -

thx guys, although I have some concerns about very small body that Silo has. I'm a tall guy (185 cm) and I'm afraid it will look like a toy in my hands and won't be comfy enough, so I'm still thinking about a Pet...hmmm, having too big choice is nightmare for me

I am not sure, but I would think that the Petrucci is smaller than a silhouette.
I am also about 185cm tall and the Pet looks okay on me.. a little small maybe, for some tastes, but it has never bothered me. Again, I don't know the numbers but in my mind the Silo body looks larger than the Petrucci.

I don't know.. I can't tell anything from that photo. The guitars are at various distances from the camera, so it's hard to compare.

I still think the Silo has a wider bottom (do they call that a 'bout' or something?)

Regardless, you will not look like Gulliver playing a Lilliputian guitar when your amazing Silhouette arrives!

hehehe:D:D thanks Steve, I will have to re-consider it once again. I'm not in a hurry, better wait a little bit longer and make the right decision.

Here's a pic of the silo right next to the pet. Same distance from the camera. I am 6'4" so they bothe look small to other people. To me they just fit.

The painting is an abstract. I just wanted to have a little less whit wall in the picture.
Actually it is the notation that Keith uses to score his music.

Is the silo similar in body to the Luke? They look almost identical but I've never had the opportunity and pleasure of playing a genuine silo.

I believe they are very similar but the regular Silo seems a little bit smaller due to bigger cut-outs in the body needed for 24 frets,
