Hi,
I live in Canada, so I have a limited choice of dealer. Ordering cross-boarder void warranty... The nearest one has good inventory but it's more flavor of the moment... a very limited quantity. When I asked for ordering a specific bass, the salesman tells me there is an upcharge. Even if it's let say a trans red Sterling with Rosewood, which it's pretty common. I'm not talking Pearloid pickguard and matching headstock, just a simple bass wchich is normal. I really don't understand why there is an upcharge.
Is it because they're paying less when they order 20-30 instruments than a single one?
