Ordering frenzee!!!!!

So frenzeeous that I can't even spell frenzee correctly!

I was at the guitar store yesterday. I was feeling saucy. I ordered a Rosewood Axis Super Sport hardtail with humbuckers. I had decided against ordering it because I didn't have the money. They said they'd just bring it in and then whenever it shows up we can figure something out. That is uber-cool.

I was at work today (another guitar store) and I was feeling just as if not a little saucier. I ordered a Silhouette Special hardtails with three single coils in the vintage sunburst with a shell pickguard. By the time this one comes in, I'll have figured out my finances and probably be working a second job.

Based on the time that I'm ordering these, and how the timeframe with the Dargies has been, I expect both guitars to be here around Christmas, which means Merry freakin' Ho-Ho for this kid! I probably should have paced myself a little bit better, but finally came to terms with the fact that I should be happy with what EBMM makes, as opposed to being unhappy about what they don't make.

They sure are lefties. The only guitar I *might* consider getting right handed and stringing left handed is a JP6 sometime in the distant future. I really like the sound and feel of them, but am still debating if that's the way to go.

Hopefully my LUKE is here this week too, which means glory be shining on moi!

Once I decide to buy the JP6 or pass on it, I am going to purchase a left handed Bongo bass. I just love the look and feel of them. They're stellar. Now, to work on the actual playing part, and I'll be good to go!

Have you tried a Sterling? They are a great sounding bass and quite reasonable in price...

thats some great ordering! and good choices too, the rosewood ASS kicks ass! I think the SSS Silo Special is a great axe too, i'm getting excited about my DD Silo Special, SSS is the way to for TONE!

I actually have. I found them to be a little too... bright? It was a single humbucker version, and I found it increasingly difficult despite tweaking the amp and the knobs on the bass, to find a really good setting. I dialed one in with the Bongo within minutes of playing it.

When I actually get around to purchasing one of these bad boys, I don't think that money is going to be the biggest concern. Payment plans are my bestest friend. How else could a minimum wage making musician bum like myself be able to afford all his crap?

There is some sort of relation between how much one truly loves their job, and how much they get paid to do so... at least in my experience anyways.

I could have had a job paying twice as much as I make now, but realized that I would have hated it and ended up quitting. Rather than go that route, I decided to take up a friend's offer and get a job slinging guitars and other musical products. I barely make enough to survive, but really enjoy getting to talk about gear all day, and on slow days sitting down to play guitar for four or five hours. It's my dream job, minus the whole "you get paid nothing" aspect.

Still though, it's well worth it to not have to be a oil rig worker or a fry cooker at Mcdonalds.

love the term "stellar",it sits nice with regards to the Bongo which is indeed an out of this world bass experience.The Sterling is svelte,has a wonderful neck,looks beautiful,hangs great,sounds great and is comfy but the Bongo is the bass sound I had in my head and the one I always wanted in my arsenal

I so agree! I will always do a low hassle job that pays a moderate amount over a massive hassle one that pays a fortune!

I made myself a little bit of a pact a few years back. That rhymed. Hahaha.

I decided that I wasn't going to let myself be bogged down by some high-stress job that I really didn't like. I've spent the past... who knows how many years watching my mother and father bitch incessantly about how much they hate their jobs... and watched how it outwardly made them miserable people.

I don't care if I barely scrape by on what I make. The point is that I DO scrape by, first of all. I'm in a little bit of debt, as any normal person is... but I always have enough money to eat, put a roof over my head, and obviously support my addiction to guitars. I have no problem making next to nothing, because at the end of the day, while so many people are totally drained from a hard day at the office with filing and refiling and ordering and shipping and all that other mumbo-jumbo... I can say "Man, I had a great day selling guitars and playing guitar."

I think it's a pretty damned good feeling. AND... it's allowed me to maintain my worry-free existance thus far. If real jobs are for real people, then I am admittedly as fake as they come.
