Orders from over the pond

I am trying to find out when us mob from across the pond can get orders placed for the new models - there is an HS SR5 out there with my name on it - but both the bass centre in London and my usual chap in Suffolk are having trouble finding out then orders can go in.


Anyone got any answers? BP?

Obviously more than happy to wait 5 months for a thing of beauty.

I don't want to start bad-mouthing anyone in the industry, but beware about dealing with a certain official distributor in the UK if you are enquiring through a dealer or speaking to the distributor direct. They have told me that they will swap around bodies and necks to suit what people are looking for. I saw an example of this in a lefty SR4 a couple of years ago and there was damage (be it slight) to the neck joint when they replaced it for another neck at some stage.

Yeah I have heard about that sort of thing before - however my little mate in Suffolk is a decent bloke (i know where is lives as he is my drummer) and often will bend over backwards to help out. - service is a little different to say Academy of Sound......but all I want is to get my hands on and SR5 HS any colour will do....

Our fantastic UK distributors were at the show and Beth can give you a heads up on what they ordered. i know that they were really excited.

Lefty, Strings and Things were our first export customer way back in 1971. They are above reproach when it comes to integrity and service. Icant say what happens when certain dealers get ahold of the instruments.

I'm mid-way in the country between you guys... is there anyone REPUTABLE you can recommend to me? Not fussed whether it is a real shop or online... what you said Lefty has me worried now!

Fully appreciate the relationship that you have with S&T, and I did say that I did not intend to bad mouth them, but as you have responded, I have to reply that it was actually S&T who catagorically stated to me that they would do this to provide what I was looking for. I had phoned a number of retailers prior to that and it was they who suggested I phone S&T direct to enquire what was in the country and could be shipped to a dealer. It may have been a rogue employee at that time who was not answering for the management of S&T, but it happened - this was going back a couple of years though, maybe 2-3.

I don't wish to cause any trouble with this, but I saw evidence with the lefty SR4 afterwards which they sent to the bass centre in London.

Sounds Plus in Bury St Edmunds - will always try to help you....

BP: S and T might be excited but knowing there will be shipments is great - well happy here now and will get my order moving....

Beth what are S and T bringing to us?

i spoke to my local shop and said that orders arent being taken for 3-4 weeks and the shop isnt a official dealer.

They be might wrong however because i ordered a f*nder jazz of them saying it would be 2 weeks and became 3 months.

But any way 6-7 months is nothing if i can eventually get my hands on a all natural stingray 5 HH!

BP what about down here in Australia can they be ordered now as well or I can wait until I arrive in the states a bring one home with me ( if they are ready!!!)
