Looking for an amp that would do good for practice and small gig situations. Both are around $700 so not really sure which to get.

The Markbass is has a 12 inch speaker while the nemesis is a 2x10 but the Markbass has 300w while the nemesis has 250. They both seem to be really good combos and I'm not sure which would be the better buy.

Trying to keep my options as open as I can but these two are the ones that really stick out and seem to be the best for the price range. I know that the CMD 102 from Markbass would probably be better than both but I don't think my budget can cover that extra $300.

Also, if it helps any I'll be playing in bands that range from jazz to funk to rock and I'll be playing both fingerstyle and slap so the more versatile the better. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm thinking of purchasing an amp a couple months from now but trying to keep in mind and finding the best so that I can try them out when I get the chance. So far I've only tried the Markbass 121 but plan on trying out the nemesis soon to make sure.

Thanks

Nemesis are ok, but imho comparing that to a MarkBass is like comparing a skoda to a porsche. so there... Buy the markBass:cool:

Well yeah I know markbass totally tops nemesis but its price range and the difference between the nemesis 2x10 and the markbass 1x12.

I hear that the Markbass 1x12 doesn't really compare too well to the markbass 2x10. Its a great amp but not sure if it would work too well in a gig setting.

The nemesis on the other hand has the advantage of being a 2x10 which seems a bit more ethical for gigs but is a nemesis.

Which of these would work better for a gig setting is really what Im asking. Would the advantage of Markbass sound quality be better? or would the advantage of having a 2x10 be better?

I had a Nemisis 2X10 combo a few years back and found I hated it..
I had originally bought it for the same reasons your thinking of getting one.
Because I hated it so much I did some extra research on it.. In short I returned it and got my money back.

I do not think the Nemisis should be on your consideration list..

From all reports as I do not owen one yet I would be looking towards Markbass.
Just my opinion But it is your opinion that counts at the end purchase.

Keep the groove.

I have a Nemesis NA-650 head that I think sounds great, but I do run it through Aggie cabs. I haven't heard the Nemesis combos, but I'm pretty sure that the tweeter can't be adjusted, so if that's important to you, heads up!

I haven't heard a MarkBass combo, but the components I tried at GC were very nice. Try both before you buy.

Alright new update.
My budget is around $700 and now I have two new very likely candidates.
One for again a Markbass 121P thats almost brand new.
And a used Eden Metro.

Which of these two would be the better buy as they're both going for $700 right now . Markbass costs less retail compared to the Eden but is the sound quality that much better? The Eden also has 400w with the eternal speaker which is a plus since I don't have to money to purchase any cabinets right now.

Let me know what you guys think.
